The 20-foot long, 1971 Buick Skylark sat in the driveway. My first car. Sort
of excited, I got in and turned on the radio. At this point I discovered that
not only was the radio just A.M., but that it only received one station –
WKCK, Northern New Jersey's Home of Country. So was born my forced love affair
with country music.
As I cruised New Jersey listening to my one-station radio, two things drew
me in – the simplicity of the music, and the honesty of the words. So
when time and circumstance ultimately led me to create my own music, it was
born out of these things.
